So far, I have finished one section of my project. I get it critiqued next Wednesday, which means I'll have to work a lot faster, and come in during lunch as well, since I don't know how much time I'll get to work on it on Monday. I may even have to edit this pose a bit more (if I choose to do so, but I may not so as to save time), plus make the other two, plus mount it.
However, what I've done so far, I'm proud of. I feel like she has more spirit than my people usually do, and I owe that to the line quality I used. I did have to work on her smile a lot, and I'll probably tinker with that a bit more since (as I noticed when I uploaded the process pictures) you can't really tell she's smiling from a distance. I may choose to wash the background with a light color (since I'm not sure how I feel about the overload of white), but if time doesn't permit that, I likely won't.

Here are my summer projects! Credit line information is with the gallery pictures. The lower of these two pictures, White Veil by the Sea, is in the process of being hung in the hallway.
This post officially marks the beginning (or third week, oops) of Art 4!
(aaaaaAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH) The fun intrusive parentheses are here because planning has started this week (and the sketchbooks have finally come too, yay) and I still have no clue which of my projects I want to use. Last week, I had a frantic brainstorming session during lunch and I came up with several ideas. However, many of them are not practical for the two-week window I have to complete a project. One really isn't suitable for an in-class project, two involve fabric (which requires a trip to a store that actually has fabric, since Plaza didn't have any), and the other two involve some fleshing out that is still underway. Hopefully I can get that figured out by today, or at least by the end of the week. Also coming by the end of the week: photos of the two summer projects. |
