We are finally in the fourth quarter!! To start that off, I have been working on this newest project for a little while now, but haven't gotten around to posting about it until now. I have chosen to make a series out of my previous piece (Solo) - same theme, same black background, same hallucinatory effects (except better-made this time, hopefully), and same general ominous feeling of walking onto a crime scene. This time, however, I have made blue the predominant color, instead of red and yellow like in Solo. As I found in researching for ideas, there exists (in production) a nail polish that turns bright blue when it makes contact with rohypnol in a drink; therefore I chose to make the pill bottle blue and include a blue area around the pills in the cups.
This newest piece is also focused on date rape, but it focuses more so on the pills themselves than the cups in which the pill-infected drink is held. Once the black background is completed, there will be no bright area except where the cups and large circles are. The pills and bottle will be hidden by darkness, except part of one pill has spilled into the light, and the idea is that there will be just enough light cast upon the bottle and the other pills so that, once one sees the pill in the light, one's eyes will follow the trail back to the bottle, and know the truth of what happened.
