Wow, this is really late - we started this weeks ago! Anyway, a while ago, we started our final project - oil painting. We've already made our canvases, toned the background, finished our initial drawing and underpainting, and from there we're currently in different stages of our color-layering process. I'm at a point in my process where, if I work hard and productively enough, I can maybe finish by next week (which is our exam...!!!). Pictures will go into the gallery/appear on the blog hopefully soon.
My painting is of a conch shell sitting on a white cube. I love shells, especially conch shells, and actually wanted to bring a conch shell of my own from home (I got it a few years ago while traveling), but it turned out to be far too large. So, I decided to use a smaller one in class. The painting is currently well on its way to being done, but it still needs several final touches. A final post (and maybe one progress post in between this one and the final) will be put up soon.
