Today I can gladly report that I have chosen my image for the portrait! After going back and taking a second round of photos (none of which I liked) and narrowing down my selections a little bit more, I settled on this one. I was trying to have a very intense stare in the picture, and this was the only intense-stare one I took with good lighting. (The second round of photos made me look either tired or sad.)
However, beyond that, there isn't much I have done this week. I did come in at lunch to finalize my photo decision and get my paper (measuring it, cropping it, and deckling the edges while I was there), and I also signed out the Conté crayons I needed, but my nice deckle-edged paper is very blank as of right now. My plan for next week involves utilizing the first few days of Thanksgiving break (due to a trip to Blacksburg later in the week, I will not be home for much of the break) to make significant progress on the drawing. I would be satisfied if, at the very least, I got to adding some form of Conté to a preliminary sketch.
